GrooveTV #104 - Disco Biscuits

Groups:

Late 2001 saw two popular bands in the jam scene relocate to Santa Cruz: Sound Tribe Sector 9 and the Disco Biscuits. When I first had the idea for GrooveTV, I asked each band for permission to shoot one of their shows. STS9 wasn't ready for it, but the guys in the Disco Biscuits liked the idea of being on cable public access.

This was the very first show we ever shot for GrooveTV ... I was such a new member at CommunityTV that I wasn't yet able to borrow gear, so several of the band's friends jumped in with cameras and helped. Our first time filming at the Rio Theatre, we augmented the shoot with two fixed cameras: one with a fisheye at the front of the stage, and one up on top of the side speaker stack.

Thank you to the Disco Biscuits for all their support over the years!

Recorded live on 3/7/02 at The Rio Theatre, Santa Cruz, CA

Audio: soundboard / audience matrix
Video: Sony PD-150 (2), Canon GL1(2)
