Practice Your Studio Skills -Tuesday, MAY 20 is Next PSA Day

Attention Certified Studio Class Members!

We Want You!

Practice Your Skills AND Support our Community Organizations by crewing on studio PSA tapings. Staff provides direction and support.

Sign up to be on crew by calling the front desk (no charge).

Production time will most likely be from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

June 27 Member Night--Great Turnout!

On June 27, we had about double the turnout of last time. (Next time, we'll probably need to move into the studio!)

Four members screened excerpts of their projects--Special thanks to Vanessa Stafford, Peter McGettigan, Barbara Riverwoman and Mathilde Rand for sharing their interesting projects and talking about their process. Members were informed, entertained, and got to ask questions and share stories. Stay tuned for a date in August for the next one, to be determined soon.

STUDIO CREW NEEDED FOR MONTHLY PSA WORKSHOPS

When we do our PSA Workshops, members have another opportunity to practice their studio skills. Once a month or so, we invite a non-profit group or representative into the studio to produce a short and simple PSA (public service announcement). It's a fun way to practice your skills!

If you are certified on any of the studio equipment and would like to participate on a crew, please post a reply here. You can also call me at extension 32 (or email me at helen@communitytv.org).

Member Networking Nights

Anyone want to pitch their project to get crew? Screen some of your work or work-in-progress to other members? Give a talk about some aspect of production you're experienced in, so others can gain from that experience?

Any other ideas for what you'd like to see--even if you don't want to present anything yourself?

Let us know! We're here to help make it happen

First Member Night a Success

Just an update to thank the folks that came out to our first Member Networking Night on April 25. There were about 10 of us for this first one, who were all very enthusiastic about being there and networking with the other members.

Many thanks to member Gary Lemson, who screened his short artistic project, which sparked even more discussion into production techniques, etc.
