Classes
To take classes at Community Television, you must be a resident of Santa Cruz County and you must be a member. To become a member, first sign up for one of our free orientations, which are offered at least once a month. Call 831-425-8848 to sign up for an orientation.

| "Indie" Lighting for Field & Studio (Open Enrollment) | James Duisenberg, co-founder of Cinemar Film Foundation and video producer/trainer for PhotoFlex, will be teaching "Indie" Lighting for Field & Studio," will cover documentary lighting, interviews, texture lighting/backdrops, green and blue screen lighting and lighting cars, windows and action. | Basic Field Camera | Learn to operate the Panasonic camcorder, Canon GL-2, tripod, audio gear, and accessories. Once you've taken this class and you have an approved Program Proposal on file you can check out one of our cameras. | NONE | $20 | 3 hours |
| Camera Theory and Techniques | Learn tips on how to get the most out of using a camera both in the field and in the studio. | Basic Field Camera certification. One completed field project recommended. | $20 | 2 hours |
| Editing Lab | Once you've taken one of our editing classes you can sign up for editing lab to work on honing your new skills. The Access Facilitator on duty will be available to help you. Editing Lab is typically held on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 - 5:00pm. | Available by appointment only. | Free | 2 hours |

| Final Cut - Beyond the Basics | “FCP: Beyond the Basics” is designed to assist semi-experienced Final Cut Pro users reach new levels in their editing. Using filters, color correction, and other special effects will be discussed. This class will be tailored to the student’s needs/desires, and requires previous certification in using FCP. | 20 | 2 hours | |
| Final Cut Pro Basics | Get Started with the basics of Final Cut Pro Digital Editing. This is a 2 part class. Please contact Ron Holman at ext. 305 before signing up for this class. | MUST have Digital Editing and Mac OSX experience. | $40 | 6 hours |

| Flypack Certification (Multi-Camera mobile unit) | Learn how to organize and assemble a multi-camera field camera production. This class is now being offered by appointment only. Contact Kathy D'Angelo, Operations Coordinator at ext. 21. | Basic Field Camera certification, Studio certification, Field Producer's certification. *You must be able to work on a staff supervised Flypack shoot in order to be certified.

| iMovie Basics/OSX | Learn basic digital editing on the Mac using iMovie. Take this before taking Final Cut Pro basics if you don't have digital editing experience. You must be familiar with Mac OSX to take this class. | Basic computer skills. | $20 | 3 hours |
